Markel further strenghtens professional liability division

Markel International, London, 30 July 2012 - Markel international has appointed Les Telford as a senior underwriter for UK and international professional indemnity within the professional liability division.

The division was recently strengthened by the appointments of Vittorio Bove and Patrizia Barattini, who are both focusing on Italian business. Les' appointment underlines Markel’s commitment to the professional sector and reinforces its expertise in professional indemnity coverage.

Reporting to Andy Palmer, Les has more than 30 years’ experience in insurance and has been responsible for underwriting a global professional indemnity account. His experience also includes senior broker positions with Aon, PYV Ltd, and HSBC. Most recently, Les worked as an underwriter for Brit Insurance.

Commenting, David Armes, managing director of the professional liability division, said: “We are delighted that Les has joined Markel and we look forward to expanding our professional indemnity business in the UK and overseas.”
